Data sovereignty is the concept that information which has been converted and stored in binary digital form is subject to the laws of the country in which it is located. With numerous regulating bodies in the Philippines requiring data to stay inside Philippines, most enterprises have been limited to use Azure and other public cloud platforms for test and development purposes only but moved their production environment to servers locally hosted in the Philippines. With ePLDT Azure Stack offering, testing and development of applications can now be run thru a local Azure with consistent look and feel but with a more realistic performance of the application given that users of the application will also be located inside the country. The tested apps can now also be deployed easily to production given that enterprises can deploy their data in ePLDT’s Azure Stack without violating any local regulating body in terms of bringing out data to be processed or stored outside the country.
