Quisitive’s High Gear for GitHub offering enables organizations to quickly understand the importance of employing a strong DevOps foundation that leverages the power of GitHub Enterprise. This two (2) week consulting services engagement from Quisitive helps organizations adopt and implement GitHub Enterprise to manage and deliver custom solutions into Azure, to help maximize developer velocity.

In today’s competitive business environment, implementing the right tools will make a world of difference for efficiency and visibility, critical for business success. GitHub Enterprise provides the platform to drive collaboration, knowledge, and velocity using the same concepts that have made Open Source systems a win for small and large organizations alike, while providing the necessary enterprise security and governance for internal use for successful InnerSourcing.

First Gear: DevOps Fundamentals
This first step is establishing a common understanding of DevOps principles, processes, and tools to ensure organizational understanding and alignment.

Second Gear: Governance & Security
Shifting into 2nd Gear, the base knowledge learned is used to help craft the right governance and policies for the organization to leverage as they begin their DevOps journey. In this step, the best practices are reviewed for code repositories, security for the software supply chain (leveraging GitHub’s features dependency graph, and Dependabot alerts and security updates), templates to ensure consistency and visibility.

Third Gear: Pipeline Automation
A key to driving velocity is to shift into the 3rd Gear and automate the software pipeline. Pipeline automation starts with building code in a repeatable format, known as continuous integration (CI), and the automated release of the code artifacts (applications or infrastructure) through practices known as continuous delivery (CD) to all the applicable environments to ensure the consistent and repeatable ability to automate changes.
