Microsoft Data Lake Buildout: Workshop

WHY AZURE DATA LAKE: Microsoft Data Lake enables organizations and individuals to store and analyze any type of data at any scale, in any format, and at any time. It's designed to simplify data management and governance, and to make it easier for developers, data scientists, and analysts to perform a variety of workloads, such as big data processing, SQL queries, and streaming analytics.

COMMON INDUSTRY SITUATION: Clients need to consolidate and automate their consumer data collection and streamline marketing campaign circulation. Clients previously outsourced customer data collection operations, leaving them with incomplete access and ownership over marketing campaign results. Additionally, they had no robust way to manage their data or refine it for their audiences. Existing processes were manual, labor-intensive operations that limited their ability to quickly distribute marketing materials to customers.

(2) Hour Workshop Our team partners closely with client stakeholders in a workshop setup to design and develop Azure Data Lake solution. The practice architects decompose the existing process into the most fundamental aspects, allowing them to quickly produce a future state Azure Data Lake Concept. We then dive into how to collect and store the data in a central location, further supporting the organization's larger goal of migrating consumer information into an internal Data Lake. 

In this workshop, our team will work with the client's team to:

1. Map out an Azure Cloud Data Lake use case.
2. Answer key Azure Cloud Data Lake design & architecture questions.
3. Document additional architectural, organizational, and process decisions.
4. Provide a working roadmap for leadership, including the above and high-level total cost of ownership implications.
5. Recommend additional advisory and/or implementation services.
