SQL Management Studio Add-in: 6-Wk Implementation


SQL Management Studio Add-ins let you safely and effectively customize your SSMS behavior to your specific business needs. Add-ins will extend boundaries and improve your SQL DB management experience.

SSMS is an integrated environment for managing any SQL infrastructure, from SQL Server to Azure SQL Databases. Use SSMS to deploy, monitor, and upgrade the data-tier components for your applications, as well as build queries and scripts.

Akvelon team will create an Add-in that will extend and automate Management Studio to make your work easier, e.g. change Database management behavior to meet your needs or connect your SSMS with external services. For example, the Add-ins allow you to launch dynamic sequences of SQL commands, expand user interface, automate batch command and data processing to use external services and APIs and create reports.


  1. Initial meeting with client to review their requirements
  2. Propose a SSMS customization plan, i.e. Add-in behavior. Plan may include specific scope that will need to be agreed upon with client to proceed further
  3. Setup project environment, including any external services (in case Management Studio needs interaction with other client’s third party services)
  4. Add-in development using Scrum
  5. Testing and hand-off
  6. Documentation development
