Azure Java Spring Cloud: MVP Build & 4-Week Assessment

Azure Java Spring Cloud provides the industry-leading PaaS platform for Java microservice development. It’s an easy way to deploy Spring Boot based microservices, w/o requiring infrastructure setup or complicated YAML configurations. It’s tightly integrated w/ Spring services in support of service mesh services like discovery, auto-scaling & gateway services. Azure Java Spring Cloud also eases development & maintenance of microservices on Azure by supporting easy service binding for Azure services like CosmosDB, SQL, Active Directory and Monitor

We will assess the current state of your applications & your software development processes in order to create a baseline that will help you measure your progress as you move forward to App Modernisation. We will create a plan you can actually implement

In the assessment, we’ll help you create a Azure Java Spring Cloud environment & a CI/CD pipeline that will deliver a working MVP app to a Production environment. This will be created following standard Infrastructure-as-code patterns

Week 1 Walk through Azure Developer Velocity Assessment; Analyse app portfolio to identify & prioritise candidates to move to Azure Spring Cloud; Analyse & assess current DevOps & CloudNative development skills within team; Ensure prerequisites are met

Week 2 Create cloud migration doc; Choose MVP app; Define branching & CI/CD pipeline; Review/Confirm Security & Infrastructure requirements; Create baseline Dev Azure Java Spring Cloud environment

Week 3 Package pilot app; Deploy to Dev; Build out Staging & Production Pipelines; Migrate data to Azure (if necessary)

Week 4 Test & deploy to Production; Complete App Roadmap; Review Governance, Security & Finance operations; Architecture Diagrams; Demonstrate auto-scaling

Deliverables Working CI/CD pipeline to Production Roadmap Tech Stack Prioritised backlog Architecture diagrams for MVP Fully deployed Spring Cloud instance in Production Functioning MVP app in Production Infrastructure as code checked into repo
