Modern enterprises rely on vast, interconnected data pipelines to drive analytics, reporting, and business decisions. However, many organizations struggle with limited visibility into data movement, transformation, and dependencies, leading to inefficiencies, compliance risks, and performance bottlenecks. This project addresses utilized Microsoft azure platforms to establish a robust data lineage across critical datasets and optimizing data pipelines for enhanced performance, efficiency, and scalability.

By mapping end-to-end data lineage and optimizing data pipelines, this Microsoft based pilot aims to demonstrate tangible value, assess technical feasibility, and provide actionable recommendations for long-term implementation. The initiative will empower stakeholders with transparency, improved data trust, and operational excellence. All documentation, mapping, and reporting will be delivered in Microsoft Word format for ease of review and collaboration.

Purpose

This Statement of Work (SOW) defines the scope, deliverables, and terms for a 3-month pilot engagement focused on two key areas:

• Establishing Data Lineage across critical datasets and pipelines.

• Conducting Databricks Pipeline Optimization to improve performance, efficiency, and scalability.

The goal of the pilot is to assess feasibility, demonstrate value, and provide recommendations for long-term implementation.

Assumptions

• Remote Delivery- All services will be delivered remotely. Any travel required for the performance of this engagement will be pre-approved by the client and will be billed directly to the client, including reasonable travel, lodging, meals, and other related expenses.

• Provision of Licenses and Access- The client will be responsible for providing all necessary software licenses, system access, data, environments, and other resources required for the vendor’s team to perform the work under this SOW.
• Timely Client Responses- The client agrees to provide timely feedback, decisions, approvals, and sign-offs within ten (10) business days of receiving deliverables or requests from the vendor, thereby avoiding project delays.
• Client Stakeholder Participation- The client will ensure that appropriate stakeholders are available and actively participate in meetings, reviews, and workshops as needed throughout the engagement.
• Engagement Duration and Termination- This SOW is valid for the duration specified herein (three months). Either party may terminate the agreement at any time by providing thirty (30) days’ prior written notice to the other party.

Exclusions

Unless otherwise specified, the following are explicitly excluded from the scope of this engagement:

• Procurement or purchase of any hardware, software, third-party tools, or licenses.
• Ongoing operational support or maintenance services beyond the engagement duration.
• Development or delivery of production-ready systems or solutions; all deliverables are intended for pilot and evaluation purposes only.
• Data migration or data cleansing activities are not included unless explicitly stated in the scope.
• Legal, regulatory, or compliance assessments beyond data lineage analysis.
• Any services or deliverables not explicitly described in the scope or deliverables- Data Lineage and Pipeline optimization section.
