StarWind Virtual SAN

StarWind Software
StarWind Virtual SAN® is software-based VM storage that eliminates any need in shared storage.

StarWind Virtual SAN® is a software-based VM storage that eliminates any need in physical shared storage.

It creates a highly available shared storage by basically "mirroring" the VMs in the cloud to achieve fault-tolerance of the cluster. Unlike similar Software-Defined Storage solutions, StarWind Virtual SAN is easily manageable, inexpensive, and high-performing and provides great benefits:

Hybrid Cloud – combining the best of both worlds.

StarWind Virtual SAN extends On-Premises workloads to Azure public cloud, transforming your infrastructure into Hybrid Cloud. StarWind distributes highly available shared storage between private and public clouds, providing Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery for optimal RTPO. The Hyper-V ecosystem is managed by such familiar and convenient orchestrators as StarWind Manager, Hyper-V, and SCVMM.

Please refer to the technical guide to proceed with the implementation. Check the Azure region for Dv3\Ev3 VM support.

Saving $60,000 for Microsoft SQL Server in Azure.

Moving SQL Server deployment from private cloud to Azure is very expensive, as it usually requires at least two Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise licenses. StarWind Virtual SAN allows you achieving Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise functionality utilizing SQL Server Standard license by mirroring storage inside VMs. What you get is protection for mission-critical data and a virtual shared storage in Azure – all for a mere fraction of the usual clustered SQL deployment cost. It’s basically the exact deployment you need, but $60,000 cheaper!

Please refer to the technical guide to proceed with the implementation.
