Pre-configured SFTP server that transfers files to Blob Storage.
SFTP Gateway is a secure-by-default, pre-configured SFTP server that saves uploaded files to Azure Blob Storage. This product is built on Ubuntu.
SFTP is still commonly used to support long established business processes and securely transfer files with 3rd party vendors. Use SFTP Gateway to upload these files to Azure Blob storage.
SFTP users are configured with SSH public key authentication by default. This is more secure than passwords, which can be weak and are sent over the wire. Password authentication can still be used if necessary.
Easy User Management:
SFTP Gateway includes an admin web interface, so you can manage users without the command line. The admin web interface lets you create users, configure their SSH key or password, and set a Blob Storage upload location.
Read and Write Directly to Blob Storage (version 3):
In version 3, you can now read and write directly to Blob storage using your favorite SFTP client. The files you see over SFTP are live Blob objects. SFTP users can visually verify the files they upload, and delete them when done.
Folder Management (version 3):
In version 3, you can create your own folder hierarchy, and map each folder to a different Blob container and path. This is a flexible system that lets you configure scenarios such as shared folders that multiple SFTP users can read and write to.
