Openfire Team Chat Server on Windows Server 2019

Openfire is an instant messaging (IM) and group chat server for the Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP). It is designed to be user-friendly, configurable, customizable, and extensible. It is based on the XMPP (Jabber) protocol and can support more than 50,000 concurrent users.

Additionally, Openfire has strong support for plugins and customized builds. There are numerous plugins available for immediate download and installation via the admin console, and many installations have bespoke plugins.

Most server administration tasks are handled through the Jetty-powered web interface, available on ports 9090 (HTTP) and 9091 (HTTPS) by default; administrators can edit server settings, add and remove users, conference rooms, and so on.

Integration with LDAP is provided – Active Directory users can be network members, and selected groups can be automatically published to the contact lists of the Jabber-compatible client. In addition, it is possible to authenticate users through third-party data sources.
