Workload Migration to Azure: 10-Wk Implementation

Applied Information Sciences

Move on-premises workloads to the Microsoft Azure Commercial Cloud with IaaS

The AIS "Workload Migration with Azure Migrate Service" offering aims to help organizations move on-premises workloads to the Microsoft Azure Commercial Cloud, targeting Azure Virtual Machines (IaaS). The offering targets Microsoft Windows and Linux server workloads, running on physical servers or virtualized on VMWare or Microsoft Hyper-V.

The offering will typically consist of three phases:

  1. Tooling: AIS establishes the required tooling to perform an assessment and migration of priority workloads.

  2. Discovery: AIS will use the tooling to discover and assess dependencies and the viability of migrating these priority workloads (servers) into the Microsoft Azure Cloud.

  3. Migration: AIS will migrate the identified priority server workloads to deploy into Microsoft Azure Commercial Cloud.

In the Tooling phase, the AIS team will deploy the Azure Migrate Discovery and assessment, and migration tooling, and ensure connectivity from target servers. The AIS team will work with client engineering teams and business stakeholders to determine priority workloads. In the subsequent Discovery phase, AIS will perform an environment assessment and recommend one or more workloads to migrate during the Migration phase. The Migration phase may also include cloud landing zone setup activities to ensure the target cloud environment migration is ready and your IT standards are followed.
