CloudTrack Azure Governance: Workshop

Atea Finland Oy

Atea’s CloudTrack Governance workshop established the governance model and principles on how Azure is used within the organization.

The movement to the public cloud has democratized technology throughout organizations, instead of solely being the domain of IT. Now mid-level managers with credit cards and expense accounts are able to make technology choices and investments for the organization that previously was done by the IT governance demand side. This movement is not without hazards, which is where cloud governance comes into play.

Atea’s CloudTrack Governance Journey ensures that the customer uses cloud-based IT delivery in a way that is correct for the business and accommodates the best practices of the cloud. In a series of workshops our experienced cloud consultants will assess the current situation, organization’s requirements and desired target state together with relevant stakeholders from customer.

Governance Model will cover following topics:

  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Azure billing and Entra ID tenant
  • Identity and Access Management
  • Management Group and Subscription design
  • Resource organization
  • Naming Convention
  • Tagging
  • Network topology and connectivity
  • Security
  • Policies
  • Logging and monitoring
  • Update management
  • Backup and recovery
  • Cost management
  • Automation and DevOps

As an outcome of these workshops, the customer will receive an approved cloud governance document based on the findings from the workshop, and in line with Microsoft's Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) guidelines.
