Bytes Workload Innovation Workshop: 2.5 days

To get the best out of the cloud, you should be using cloud-native technology. The Platform-as-a-Service offerings are easier to manage, usually cheaper, and scalable by default. Shifting the management overhead of the infrastructure to Microsoft and saving money on run-time costs should be part of any organisation’s long-term strategy. During the Bytes Workload Innovation Workshop, Bytes will work with you to review your existing workload(s) and plan a Workload Innovation strategy for Azure. The Bytes Workload Innovation Workshop will include: • Data collection of existing workloads • Workload innovation options (refactor, rearchitect, redesign) • Discussion to cover appropriate PaaS offerings and how they operate/differ to virtual machines • Migration tools available (if required) • Security and best practices • Documentation for a proposed well-architected solution and, if required, migration strategy into Azure Bytes will work with the customer to: • Review the current application workloads • Understand application mapping and dependencies • Discuss the capabilities and constraints of relevant PaaS offerings in Azure • Define a suitable backup strategy • Understand the costs of running the workload in Azure • Align with Microsoft’s Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Well Architected Framework (WAF) • Design a scalable and cost optimised environment Stage 1 – Discovery 0.5 days • Review current workload(s) • High-level overview of workload innovation options • Discuss suitable PaaS offerings, and the capabilities and constraints of each in Azure • Deep dive into the application to understand application mapping and dependencies Stage 2 – Security & Governance (Landing Zone) 1 day • Subscription Management • Management Groups • Azure Policy • Role Based Access Controls • Networking • Naming Conventions • Tagging • Azure Monitor • VPN Stage 3 - Recommendations 1 day • Proposed solution and migration method documented • Estimated Azure costs • Handover meeting
