Digital Twin Smart Spaces: 3-Month PoC
Achieve climate-friendly goals with Smart Spaces platform, supporting their implementation through the use of battery-less sensors and a managed Azure-based platform.
The Smart Spaces framework uses Azure IoT services to integrate sensor data into the digital twin representation of the physical workspace. In this way, the framework integrates real-time information into the digital model and can reflect the status of objects within the workspace.
Key management functionalities include: Upload and assignment of floor plans, self-service management of workspace hierarchy, self-service management of space for offices and meeting rooms, placement of sensors within the workspace. Current and historically collected sensor or booking data is displayed in an analytics dashboard as part of the Smart Spaces framework. Insights into individual workstation or meeting room usage, resource usage patterns, and other reports are possible.
Sensors and data collection Sensor data is collected using EnOcean sensors that operate without batteries (using energy harvesting solutions) and communicate wirelessly with the framework. Within the Smart Spaces framework, all data is stored in a data lake with appropriate storage solutions for each type of data (e.g., time series databases for sensor data, binary storage for BLOB data).
