Data Modernization In A Day: 1 Day Workshop

The emphasizes is on azure and its data services, migration strategies, cloud native offerings for SQL Server & non-SQL Server loads, tools & frameworks for migration, Synapse Analytics and Power BI

Today, analytics is at the heart of every business. In this era of digital transformation, every business is a data business. Data is the core element enabling both analytical and predictive power, to the small businesses and to large corporate enterprises alike. While analytics is important, it’s increasingly evident that not all analytics are equal. Data science takes analytics to the next level. While the data grows at 400%, only 30% gets analyzed; as per a report, in 2020 alone the data collected worldwide stands at 44 ZB and this is expected to be at 175 ZB by 2025!

The reason for above numbers could be manifold. Some of the noticeable ones are:

  • Large percentage of this data is not understood and hence ignored
  • Amidst lack of a common vision, certain departments end up building their own analytics solutions based on their individual needs
  • More analytics solutions lead to more silos across data, technology, and skills
  • The infrastructure and platform that is needed for the analysis, in terms of setup, management and cost effectiveness

The need is to have an end-to-end analytics platform which can bring these data silos together, use the Cloud native services for a fully managed modern data platform on cloud, either it’s the modern data lake or the traditional data warehouse and bring together data ingestion, big data analytics and data warehousing. Through this workshop, you will get a detailed understanding of Microsoft Azure and its data services, understand the migration strategies, what are the cloud native offerings for your SQL Server and non-SQL Server loads and the tools and frameworks for migrating data to the cloud, including SQL Server Assistant, Database Migration Framework and services like Azure Synapse Analytics and Power BI. We will also provide insights into how some of our global customers have successfully migrated their workloads to the cloud, lessons learnt from some of these implementations and help you identify a business case to get you started.
