Deliverables:

1. Connect on-premises environment to Azure (1)
2. Assess current data warehouse situation
3. Discover SSRS, reporting, and on-premises BI tools situation
4. Discuss Azure pricing and pick the best short- and long-term strategies
5. Create an Azure Landing Zone in Microsoft Fabric for data and analytics
6. Discuss data warehouse/lake architecture and the best approach for full data-to-cloud migration or virtualization
7. Initiate data migration/replication/virtualization to the cloud
8. Review of current data model(s) in the organization
9. Discuss and create a high-level plan for data model modernization, data ownership, and processes around data analytics
10. Pick one data domain and business/enterprise data model for a pilot, along with corresponding report(s)
11. Create a clean star schema data model for the selected domain in Microsoft Fabric
12. If possible, create matching access groups for self-service consumption
13. Create the first Power BI reports within the selected data domain
14. Two half-day training sessions or one half-day training (as in Module 2)
15. Create a backlog for data domain discussion and modeling
16. Create roadmaps and high-level architectures for:

• Full data migration
• Access management processes for data in the cloud

Assumptions:

(1)There is existing Azure connectivity from organization and traffic allowed through firewalls.
