This solution gives quick access to Diversity and Inclusion stats (such as ethnicity and gender split) for HR users in a secure manner, allowing them to make informed data driven decisions.

What's the problem?

  • Ethnicity study and Diversity is becoming more important as an area of interest to businesses, and our client wanted a system that empowered all users with all available data.
  • The legacy system previously in place produced different reports, without any cogent core aims or Key Performance Indicators, creating a confused picture of diversity and inclusion across the organisation.
  • Due to the sensitive nature of the data HR teams were finding it time consuming to access the key metrics they needed for board reporting.
  • The current manual process if painfully slow for HR teams.

Here’s how it works:

  • We built a Data Lake in Azure with end-to-end automation, connecting to existing HR data covering data ingestion, transformation, modelling and visualization in Power BI - removing manual processes and saving crucial time
  • We designed and built a solution in collaboration with key users, to make it easy for authorized users to access the data they needed through Power BI dashboards, granting a central point to this data system, replacing the splintered legacy system - improving adoption across the organization.
  • We then ensured access was for authorized individuals only, enabling users to easily and securely share and access sensitive data across departments.
  • We leveraged a new Azure Data Factory pipeline to transform the data. In transforming this incoming data, we ensured the uniformity of all data going into the new data model. HR data was now transformed into a singular, usable format that opened the door to improving usability and the widespread sharing of resources between authorized users.

  • A complete, secure end-to end-system that granted insights to authorized users regulated through row level security - this provided a broad data view whilst proficiently ensuring appropriate security and access privileges.
  • A Data Lake built alongside data transformations to homogenize data from a multitude of sources - this lets teams easily gather Diversity and Inclusion stats across the organization .
  • Time savings unlocked through pipeline automation - smart, informed decisions could now be made with even greater efficiency.
