Cloud Essentials Optimisation: 3 wk Implementation

The Cloud Essentials Optimisation Service is positioned to support customers in their adoption and management of Azure. This is achieved by gaining an understanding of the customers current and future adoption plans, coupled with actual usage data from Bytes' Quantum tool. to achieve this is described below:

• Week 1: Information Collection and Analytics
  Bytes will hold a workshop with the customer to gain an understanding of current use of Azure and future Azure adoption plans. This will focus on new workloads or services into Azure (typically IaaS i.e. virtual machines), as well as refinement or adoption of cloud native services, such as Azure Kubernetes, Databricks or Synapse Services. Along with this customer strategy, Bytes will then utilise native Azure data and/or Quantum (Bytes proprietary technology) to collate and analyse actual cloud usage. Based on this Bytes will determine technical right sizing and/or the type and quantity of spend to support the use of Hybrid Benefits, Reserved Capacity or Reserved Instances, to drive further cost effective Azure adoption.


• Week 2: Customer Presentation and Review
  Bytes will present initial draft findings and recommendations to the customer on how they can optimise their current cost of Azure whilst achieving their future adoption plans in the most cost effective way. Following agreement with the customer Bytes will prepare a final set of technical and commercial recommendations.
• Week 3: Remediation Implementation
  Bytes will apply technical remediation and right sizing of Cloud services within the customer's environment. Additionally commercial actions will also be taken such as the purchasing or cancellation of reservations, and the assignment/reassignment of of BYOL (Hybrid Benefits).
