Chipmunk is a purpose-built Microsoft 365 offboarding backup solution designed for IT administrators and compliance teams. When a user is disabled in Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Chipmunk automatically initiates a full backup of the user's OneDrive, Exchange mailbox (including attachments), and Teams chats.

Built to address strict retention timelines imposed by Microsoft (e.g., 30–93 days post-departure), Chipmunk prevents accidental or policy-driven loss of critical information after users leave the organization.

Backups are stored in your own Azure Blob Storage, with full folder hierarchy preserved and the ability to restore to other locations later. Chipmunk runs as a managed appliance in your Azure environment, with no public access, and full control retained by your IT team.
