Eastwall Azure Enterprise Application Modernization
Accelerate your application lift to modern enterprise platform services and migrate to Azure. Includes an assessment, pilot, and production roadmap.
Legacy applications slow your business down in productivity, operations, and development. Move from expensive hardware or outdated frameworks to the latest platform-native services in Azure with help from a trusted Microsoft Partner. Eastwall supports organizations evaluate .NET, Java or linux-based applications and plan for cloud migration with a modernization approach. Eastwall supports migration from on-premises to the cloud or migration from other cloud providers. This includes modernizing legacy virtual-machine based applications into platform-native toolchains.
A careful assessment of the application environment is the first approach to build a targeted, tactical plan for migration. Using Microsoft-native and third-party tooling, Eastwall will work with your team to outline risks and determine how to rehost, refactor, and/or rearchitect on the Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform. Our engagements include visibility to operation costs, level of effort to refactor, and ensuring your team is upskilled on how to manage and optimize after migration.
Eastwall's professional services engagement helps you leverage Azure, whether you are getting start for the first time extending your existing Azure footprint. Working with a highly certified Microsoft Azure & Application architect, Eastwall will support you to:
• Assess: Eastwall will lead an evaluation exercise to review your critical line-of-business applications, infrastructure & software dependencies, total cost of ownership (TCO) and ideate future architectures on Microsoft Azure. We leverage Microsoft’s Well Architected Framework (WAF) and Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) to design a right-size, appropriately architected application.
• Pilot: Working hand-in-hand with your team, Eastwall deploys the necessary infrastructure components to begin replatforming or rearchitecting your application on Microsoft Azure. This includes any code-level changes, deployments, troubleshooting and debugging. We document every change made to ensure your team has visibility to the new architecture plan. Typical architectures for modern applications leverage platform-native services through containers, serverless, or other platform-as-a-service (PaaS) components such as Azure Web Apps, Azure SQL Database, Azure Redis Cache, amongst others.
• Validation: After deploying the rearchitected and refactored application, Eastwall and your team will conduct validation testing to ensure the application performs as expected. We’ll then document the Microsoft Azure architecture and conduct a hand-off meeting with your technical team, including an enterprise-level executive summary meeting.
Assessment engagements typically begin at two-to-four weeks duration for small-to-medium enterprise applications and can last six-to-eight weeks or more for larger, interconnected enterprise applications with large data backends. Pilot activity duration is dependent on technical complexity but can typically be achieved in two weeks. Our team will work with you to determine the timeline & actual cost estimate.
With a detailed technical assessment & go-forward plan, implemented solution, and a backlog of continued improvements, Eastwall helps leading organizations fortify their cloud approach brick by brick.
