Azure Health Data Services is a secure platform designed for Protected Health Information and related health data workloads in the cloud. It enables analytics and machine learning and is based on the interoperable data standard FHIR® and the DICOMweb™ standard.

The Azure Health Data Services is a managed, standards-based healthcare data platform. It enables organizations to bring their health data into the cloud based on the FHIR® and DICOMweb™ standards. Azure Health Data Services helps unlock the value of data and respond to changing business dynamics more easily. Organizations can bring together clinical, imaging, and IoT data from multiple record systems and normalize that data using common models. The data can be used in AI workloads to derive insight and power new systems of engagement including clinician and patient dashboards, diagnostic assistants, and connected healthcare scenarios such as Remote Patient Monitoring. Using the de-identification service, unstructured data can be de-identified making it available for clinical research using population health insights as well as machine learning. Azure Health Data Services are built with security and privacy in mind and meet both the HIPAA and HITRUST certification requirements. They allow customers to own and control patient data, knowing how it is stored and accessed.
