Comprehensive Service Management and Orchestration for O-RAN Network Functions
The Aarna Networks Multi Cluster Orchestration Platform (AMCOP) is an open source orchestration, lifecycle management, and real-time policy driven closed loop automation platform for cloud native 5G network services and edge computing applications.
In this use case, AMCOP is being used as a comprehensive Service Management Orchestration (SMO) component as specified by the O-RAN Alliance specifications. Essentially, the SMO is the most critical component for supporting and managing a disaggregated multi-vendor RAN environment.
AMCOP O-RAN SMO is a cloud native application that can be used to orchestrate and manage O-RAN network functions (CU, DU, RU) CNFs or CNAs. It can be deployed on Azure cloud, and can be used to orchestrate other cloud native functions or MEC applications running on either Azure cloud or on-premises.
Aarna’s AMCOP O-RAN SMO is ideal for today’s rapidly evolving network environments:
Vendor Neutral: We don’t build any O-RAN network functions, so are 100% neutral
Cloud Native: AMCOP is optimized for cloud native O-RAN network functions (it is also a cloud native application)
Comprehensive O-RAN SMO standards5G Ssupport: We support cloud management, VNF/CNF orchestration, lifecycle management, and closed loop automation/FCAPS
Lightweight and easy-to-use: Low CPU/memory footprint and easy to install, maintain, and use
Open Source: Based on the O-RAN work done by the Linux Foundation Networking and O-RAN Software Community communities
Standards Aligned: We support O1, A1, Open Fronthaul M-Plane, pre-standards R1, slicing, and K8s centric pre-standards O2
