Citrix Virtual Apps Essentials Migration

PROJECT OVERVIEW: The primary objective of this project is to replace Customer’s existing Citrix Virtual Apps Essentials environment with Citrix Desktops as a Service Standard for Azure. This project will transition a customer from the current production Virtual Apps Essentials Service to Citrix Desktops as a Service (DaaS) Standard for Azure entitlement. Virtual Apps Essentials Service is built on an older architecture that is no longer being developed by Citrix and will be shut down on May 31, 2024 (End of Sale Announcement -https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX583004/citrix-virtual-apps-essentials-and-citrix-virtual-desktops-essentials-eos-and-eor-azure-marketplace). For this reason, as part of the transition, a new Citrix DaaS tenant will be set up and all relevant settings/configurations will be migrated. Choice Solutions will provide a half day of knowledge transfer and onboarding to help provide guidance on the new operational and administrative aspects of managing the Citrix DaaS environment.

Optional Services: Citrix DaaS Standard for Azure entitlement comes with Citrix Workspace Environment Manager (WEM) and Citrix Session Recording. Choice Solutions has a Jump Start for each of these optional services.

SERVICE OFFERING The Virtual Apps Essentials Migration Jumpstart will include the following high-level objectives:

Design and planning session including: *Virtual App Essentials environment review to assist with DaaS readiness *DaaS Standard for Azure Architecture & Entitlement review *Citrix DaaS on Azure Readiness Items *Process to Migrate existing images to Citrix DaaS *Migration of Workspace URL to ensure a smooth migration

Citrix DaaS Standard on Azure deployment: *Build single resource location consisting of Two Cloud Connectors *Migration of Citrix/Microsoft policies to new environment *Provisioning and configuration of new DaaS tenant (Identity, Workspace, GaaS, etc) *Parallel migration of One image to Citrix DaaS – Knowledge Transfer of process
*Cutover of existing Workspace URL *Configuration of remote access via Gateway as a Service *Functional Testing/validation of solution Citrix DaaS for up to One Image *Half-day workshop covering Citrix DaaS Administrative and Operational aspects along with a brief overview of both WEM and Session Recording for future use.

Optional Services: WEM/Session Recording Migration of all Images User Acceptance Testing Prod Roll-Out Support

To summarize, as part of this customized engagement, Choice Solutions will do the following: build a new DaaS Standard for Azure tenant to migrate Customer from Virtual Apps Essentials which Citrix will be discontinuing. Customer’s existing settings, where applicable, along with One image for presenting applications will be migrated to the new service. Knowledge Transfer will be provided for the Customer to continue with the migration process. If additional services are needed, please let the account manager know and this will be added to the Jump Start Scope.
