The Azure Virtual Desktop, formally WVD, Pilot is designed to get your organization hands on experience with AVD prior to full deployment.
Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), formally WVD, provides the ability to scale remote desktop access virtually limitlessly, on demand, without the capital expense required with traditional VDI implementations. Providing a secure, scalable, globally accessible remote desktop environment. The Azure Virtual Desktop Pilot is designed to get your organization hands on experience with AVD prior to full deployment. The engagement starts by providing following the Cloud Adoption Framework to align overall strategy and best practices to enable success for a full deployment. We will first start with an assessment of AVD readiness and documents any needed prerequisites.
Project Goals and Activities: Gather requirements with stakeholders to build out an effective strategy and plan. Assess environment readiness, align on the overall governance and management plan. Review and verify Azure AD and Azure subscription prerequisites for a AVD implementation. Implement group-based secure access for AVD remote desktop and remote applications. Configure profile containers with Azure File Shares. Deploy a AVD host pool and configure remote desktop and remote application groups access. Implement Logging with Azure Log Analytics. As-built documentation and knowledge transfer to admin staff.
