NVIDIA Omniverse is a platform for building custom 3D pipelines and operating large scale virtual worlds based on OpenUSD.

An Omniverse Virtual Workstation allows users to provision a virtual machine with graphical capabilities within Microsoft Azure eliminating the need to run Omniverse-based applications locally on an RTX-enabled computer. Utilizing the power of an RTX-enabled virtual machine on Microsoft Azure, users with non-RTX capable computers and devices have the ability to use Omniverse applications in full fidelity with excellent performance using only the Microsoft Remote Desktop client.

This VMI provides a pre-configured GPU-optimized Omniverse Workstation environment featuring the Omniverse Launcher for easy and immediate deployment of Nucleus Workstation and Foundation applications such as USD Explorer, USD Composer and Omniverse Code. Microsoft’s Visual Studio Code is also included, quickly enabling application and extension development for the Omniverse platform.

This VMI is compatible with the following Microsoft Azure instance types, featuring the NVIDIA A10 RTX GPU:

Standard_NV36ads_A10_v5 (Single A10 GPU)
Standard_NV72ads_A10_v5 (Dual A10 GPU’s)

The usage of this VMI requires a separately purchased license which entitles you to software updates and enterprise support offered through NVIDIA Omniverse Enterprise.
