Remote Device Management Platform (RDMP) – 12 Weeks– Proof Of Concept
RDMP is a cloud solution for managing, analyzing, and visualizing data from IoT devices. It offers insights, device management, and proactive support, ideal for monitoring the end-to-end system health
Apexon’s RDMP provides a framework that aligns remote monitoring, management and data analysis in a single platform. Built to take advantage of Azure-managed components, the platform allows product engineering and operations teams to support their customers and, importantly, provide a more complete solution to the problems associated with the management and monitoring of critical IoT devices.
Monitoring and managing health tech devices and wearables is a big challenge. In fact, there are no solutions currently available that can be classed as “one size fits all” in terms of how a manufacturer manages, analyzes, debugs and upgrades the large number of IoT devices in the field. For the vast majority of cases, the devices themselves have to be managed remotely for firmware updates, configurations etc. At the same time, monitoring the behavior of devices in different conditions is equally important.
RDMP allows the manufacturer to monitor like memory, storage, communication, battery, upgrades, configurations, usage, and many more. As a bonus, the platform provides granular level of details of these aspects to the administrator.
RDMP also provides a SDK and library that a developer can integrate during the development of Edge Device Firmware, Hub Firmware and Companion Mobile Application (CMA). The library captures device metadata and critical system level alerts or events. Additionally, developers can incorporate functional events and alerts. These logs are stored to the device cache until they are transferred to the Companion app or Hub.
A CMA or a Hub SDK provides an interface with the IoT device over Bluetooth connectivity. The communication establishes automatically on a pre-defined custom logging service, while the SDK has a configurable Cloud Interface that provides seamless log transfers to the cloud Platform.
One embedded advantage of RDMP is that developers can debug, identify and analyze the root cause of critical errors and events. They can also understand error patterns by analyzing the time series event sequence on device(s). And they can access device health patterns with various filters like storage, memory usage, location or firmware version, etc.
With device efficiency a critical component, the platform provides the developer with the tools to search/filter events, analyze device performance against multiple parameters, identify user journey, usage pattern, filter or search devices, get event timeline of all devices and, access a real time view of events occurred on the device itself. In addition, RDMP provides some device control activities like push firmware updates or configuration updates on device, etc.
Engagement Model
Apexon’s Azure professional services team collaboratively works with client’s architects and business teams to thoroughly assess existing eco-system. We facilitate the integration of RDMP into client’s Azure account by leveraging Azure services. RDMP framework employs a configuration-based approach on Azure to track both system events and user actions across the ecosystem. It brings components for each layer from device firmware to cloud and visualization.
