We will take you on a journey and look at the skeleton of your existing environment with you. We will define what kind of migration plan fits best and how to fully utilize Microsoft Synapse analytics modern architecture.

Week 1-2: Document the existing solution (architecture, list of dbs., dB objects, schemas, security, process, data ingestion tools, ETL/ELT, BI, Data Science and AI…) Development and deployment process: list of existing and/or new tools for migration, production/development environment, deployment process, to build modern architecture on top of Microsoft Synapse analytics. Deep dive into Microsoft Synapse analytics Week 3: Set priorities for migration (what data sets to migrate first, data sets dependencies to lower the challenges down the road) Migration use cases (draft of deliverables) and define the high-level strategy: lift and shift – migration as-is, reengineering or lift and shift + modernization and planned future architecture diagram Week 4: Migration project timeline (business and technical expectations, detailed migration plan, cloud resource cost calculation and migration services) Set up the migration team and roles Risk factors (assess possible risk factors based on the strategy chosen and possible plan B) Success factors (set KPI's and success metrics)

OUTCOMES: End2End modern architecture for Microsoft Synapse analytics, detailed migration strategy, cut-over strategy, system testing & reconciliation strategy, defined project team, roles and responsibilities, migration timeline, including a detailed plan and list of migration tasks.
