Insight's Azure Arc Setup Service
Insight’s setup service for Azure Arc enables hybrid and multi-cloud scenarios for organisations by extending Azure management and services to on-premises, multi-cloud, or edge environments.
Insight’s Azure Arc Setup Service is a strategic and structured service delivered by Insight’s experienced, and certified Azure Experts.
The service has been designed to support organisations with solving a common challenge with deploying a unified management platform across disparate IT environments.
Azure Arc extends the Azure management plane beyond the boundaries of Microsoft’s Cloud to non-Azure resources - enabling organisations to standardise operations, governance, and compliance across on-premises datacentres, edge environments, and other public clouds like AWS and Google Cloud.
Insight has supported organisations with unifying their IT operations by bridging the gap between distributed infrastructures with Azure Arc as the centralised cloud-native management platform. This has enabled organisations to have consistent and standardised operations, security, and governance across their Windows & Linux Servers, Kubernetes and Data Services.
Insight’s Azure Arc Setup Service is the first step in discovery, reviewing the features & services available, designing and then enabling Azure Arc ready for managing your IT environments.
Insight’s Azure Arc Setup Service has been developed in line with Microsoft’s Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Well-Architected Framework (WAF). The proposed setup service will be delivered as a two-way consultative engagement and engineered to deliver the following business outcomes, and objectives: • Understand the organisation’s business and technical requirements for deploying Azure Arc. • Review the benefits of the service, including standardised tooling & monitoring and centralised security, compliance & threat protection. • Complete a discovery and readiness review of the in-scope Azure, on-premises and other public cloud environments. • Review the service options for Azure Arc, the core control plane and the supported Azure Services: o Arc-enabled Servers - onboarding Windows and Linux servers into Azure for policy, monitoring, tagging, patching and security. o Arc-enabled Kubernetes - extend GitOps-based configuration management, policy, and configuration to any CNCF-compliant clusters. o Arc-enabled Data Services – run Azure SQL Managed Instance and PostgreSQL Hyperscale on-premises or other clouds with built-in HA, patching, and scalability. • Review the governance features with Azure Policy, configuration options with Azure Automation & Azure Update Manager. • Review the monitoring options with Azure Monitor & Log Analytics Workspace. • Review the security and threat protection features with Microsoft Defender for Cloud & Servers. • Review the pricing model for Azure Arc and add-on services. • Produce and approve the Azure Arc deployment design and implementation plan. • Provision and enable Azure Arc as per the design & implementation plan. • Produce deployment documentation and complete handover, as part of a knowledge transfer workshop, with the project stakeholders, who will manage the platform ongoing. • Review next steps for the Azure Arc deployment.
