AzERE - Azure Emergency Response Environment | Implementation 1 Week

Azure Emergency Response Environment, or AzERE, provides a disaster recovery infrastructure for business-critical tools and services to recover automatically in the event of a worst-case scenario

In this consulting offering, we help clients create a robust and reliable recovery environment for their Active Directory (AD) and Azure Active Directory (AAD) - all hosted entirely on Microsoft Azure. This solution is designed to protect your critical business services and withstand a successful ransomware attack.

Critical business services include:

  • Active Directory
  • AAD
  • Identities
  • Optional: A defined set of critical business applications

With our Azure-based solution, all essential resources such as Domain Controller identities are maintained in a backup environment, ensuring your business continuity. After a successful ransomware attack, the Recovery Time Objective (RTO) for the most critical services is targeted to be only a few days.

Our solution includes an automated process to provide a collaboration platform for a subset of users within the first few hours after an attack. We emphasize REGULAR fire testing to ensure the robustness of the defense mechanisms in place.

The environment is built with a 100% DevOps approach, incorporating Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, fully leveraging Azure's capabilities for streamlined deployment and scalability.

A significant advantage of hosting the recovery environment in Azure is its immediate availability during the critical recovery phase. The delays typically associated with restoring physical systems are eliminated. Furthermore, Azure's scalable architecture allows your environment to expand as your recovery needs increase. This flexibility not only ensures the accommodation of any level of demand but also means you only pay for the resources you use, offering a cost-effective solution for your business continuity needs.
