Azure Networking

We implement two Meraki vMX virtual appliances to extend your Meraki SD-WAN to Azure in high-availability. The virtual appliances are deployed in separate availability zones to provide both software and hardware redundancy. Our implementation includes setup of Azure Functions to facilitate automatic failover and updating of user-defined routes.

We set up and test a single Meraki vMX virtual appliance, and implemented best-practice Azure security and management. We then implement a second vMX appliance in a separate availability zone and set up Azure networking and Azure functions to detect if the primary is not functioning correctly, and automatically update both the Azure and Meraki routing tables so that traffic is all routed through the secondary vMX. The Azure functions can include other self-healing and notification actions.
