Azure Migration Services: 1 Day Implementation

Migrating workloads & production services to Azure can be challenging & costly if poorly executed. Although it’s relatively easy to undertake a “lift & shift” migration to Azure this rarely delivers on transformation & ROI requirements. Ensuring a best practice deployment & appropriate governance controls is often overlooked as part of migration planning.

Our services follow the successful deployment of a Landing Zone. We assess migration workloads & move a cloud-native operating model to ensure a maximum return of a migration to Azure. Our typical approach focuses on move groups aligned to an application/service line. For each application we:

Evaluate an existing asset & establish a migration plan

Replicate the functionality of an asset into the Landing Zone infrastructure

Review the performance, cost, access, & operational capacity of an asset

Ensure an asset is ready for ongoing operations

Migration Assessment

This provides an analysis of your existing workloads to provide an overview of infrastructure & application requirements. In an ideal migration every asset would be compatible with a cloud platform & migration-ready. Not every asset is compatible with cloud platforms so it’s vital to assess the workload & each related asset before migrating a workload.

SQL Server Migration

We manage thousands of SQL Server databases globally & often migrate these workloads to Azure. Working with the application owners & development team, we review modernisation opportunities for PaaS services & are on hand to performance tune & test databases prior to go-live.

Communication

Each migration project has an associated plan managed by the Migration Lead. The communication structure involves:
