IoT and Computer Vision with Azure: 4-Day Workshop

This 4-Day IoT workshop is ideal for hardware vendors or technology professionals who are interested to learn about the range of capabilities Azure IoT and Cognitive services offer and how to use them with Raspberry Pi IoT devices. The workshop can accommodate up to 12 people who work to set up and configure the device and the Azure IoT services. Coding knowledge is not required although will be beneficial. Raspberry Pi devices and sensors are included in the price of the workshop. Participants will be responsible for their own Azure subscription and to bring a laptop.

• How to set up and configure essential Azure IoT services
• How to send IoT data to Azure IoT services
• How to visualize the IoT data using Power Bi
• How to use Microsoft Vision API to recognize images send from the device camera

Day 1: Set Up and Configure Raspberry Pi

• Overview of Internet of Things
• Install Raspbian OS on the device
• Configure device networking
• Configure temperature and humidity sensor on the device
• Configure camera on the device

Day 2: Set Up Azure Services

• Set Up free Azure account
• Create and configure Azure IoT Hub resource
• Create and configure Azure Storage resource
• Create and configure Azure Stream Analytics resource
• Configure the device to send data to Azure IoT Hub

Day 3: Data Analytics and Visualization

• Set up Power BI account
• Configure Power BI data sources
• Create IoT dashboard in Power BI

Day 4: Microsoft Vision and IoT Image Detection

• Set up Microsoft Vision service
• Configure device to send data to Microsoft Vision
• Test image recognition from the device
• Wrap up
