Linux 7.9 with SoftEther VPN Server - Free VPN
SoftEther VPN is a VPN software that offers both a secure VPN protocol and a versatile VPN server. The Server is pretty popular due to the strong encryption, reliability, and performance improvement it provides.
The main feature of SoftEther VPN architecture is the virtualization of Ethernet devices. It is the key to everything. SoftEther VPN virtualizes Ethernet devices in order to create a flexible virtual private network for both remote-access VPN and site-to-site VPN. SoftEther VPN implements the Virtual Network Adapter program as a software-emulated traditional Ethernet network adapter.
Geographically distributed branches couldn’t be united in a network by default. With SoftEther VPN, you could lay virtual Ethernet cables between all your branches. Then all computers of all branches will be connected in a single LAN.
SoftEther VPN features:
- HTTPS protocol using allows establishing highly secure VPN tunnels
- L2TP over IPsec protocol support allows connecting to the server without client software installation
- Clone function of OpenVPN provides easy configuration as well as all common VPN functions and operating systems support if you’d like to replace or integrate the OpenVPN server with SoftEther VPN Server
- Clone function of Microsoft SSTP VPN Server allows using the built-in SSTP VPN client on Windows for connecting devices to SoftEther VPN Server
- Built-in Dynamic DNS (DDNS) function registers your VPN Server's IP address on the DNS record of ".softether.net" for free
- With built-in NAT Traversal, no special settings on NAT/firewall are necessary anymore
