Azure Storage Mover is a migration service that helps you migrate the contents of your on-premises file shares to Azure Storage. At this time, you can migrate from on-premises NFS shares to Azure blob containers. 

The Storage Mover service works through a migration appliance VM. You will run it on your organization’s infrastructure, close to the source storage. An agent needs to be registered and can then be fully managed from the storage mover resource that you are about to create here.

Migration process

    1. Create this storage mover resource.

    2. Download, run, and register the migration agent VM.

    3. Create a migration project.

    4. Define your sources, targets and migration settings in the project.

    5. Choose an agent to run your migration jobs.
