The Yammer Wall Apps collects specific Yammer content and streams it to the registered clients. The Yammer Wall Server collects all data and distributes the content to any number of entitled clients. Our customers need a web browser to display the formatted result and update the content automatically or when scrolling down.
Viewers get the latest enterprise news directly from Yammer or other Social Media or event-driven systems instantly, regardless of whether it's a Tablet PC or a giant screen mounted on a wall at an event site or in the cafeteria.
The Backend runs as a service and continuously monitors changes to the defined Yammer sites and messages. When articles are changed, the content in the cache is updated and made available to clients.
The Frontend is a website that consumes the provided data and displays them somewhat for the users. Filters allow searching for specific news, channels, or time frames. Users can open the articles for reading the complete article and all content such as pictures, PDF documents, and much more. The Frontend can be customized with the Corporate Identity of the organization.
Users can consume the content from known devices within the organization only, but without the requirement to have a Microsoft 365 (M365) account and to authenticate. In contrast, only defined administrators with an M365 login can manage the Yammer Wall tool and determine what content is available, how it is displayed, and what devices can access the information.
The Yammer Wall tool is handy in larger companies that want to provide decentralized news from different channels centrally for their employees. In this way, employees stay up to date without having to have their M365 login.
