EYE-SYNC is a non-invasive mobile eye tracking system that can objectively identify impairments related to oculomotor and vestibulo-ocular function. Developed by SyncThink, the EYE-SYNC system is built around a modified virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR) goggle equipped with infrared cameras and emitters. The goggle components work to simultaneously capture and record the movement of each eye of the patient while the patient maintains gaze on a target provided in the head mounted display. During each test administration, EYE-SYNC uses proprietary metrics to quantify the variance of eye tracking performance, which are displayed for clinician interpretation immediately following test completion.
The EYE-SYNC battery consists of four distinct assessments: Saccade, Smooth Pursuit, Vestibulo-Ocular Reflex (VOR), and Vestibulo-Ocular Reflex Cancellation (VORx). Each assessment can be administered by a trained clinician, who may utilize the objective data to support clinical diagnosis and provide recommendations regarding treatment. EYE-SYNC paradigms can also be utilized for therapeutic purposes designed to improve eye tracking performance over time, at the discretion of the trained clinician and where indicated.
In addition to the four core eye target synchronization tasks, EYE-SYNC serves as a fully integrated neurohealth management platform by providing access to classic neuropsychological examinations, demographic and medical history, institution management, and integrations with leading EMRs.
