Open source software for forwarding log messages in an IP network.

Since the beginning of the rsyslog project in 2004, the author Rainer Gerhards wanted the utility to be new strong that prevents monocultures and offers a rich freedom of choice. Based on the standard syslog BSD protocol specified in RFC 3164, Rsyslog supports extensions such as ISO 8601, TCP, GSS-API, TLS, RFC 2424, RFC 5425, RELP, and more.

Available for a number Linux and Unix distribution systems such as Fedora, openSUSE, Debian GNU/Linux, Ubuntu, Red Hat, Solaris, FreeBSD, Gentoo, Arch Linux, NetBSD and more. However, this solution is primarily the software Rsyslog built on top of Ubuntu 18.04 installed on Azure. Tested by Apps4Rent engineers, this solution is been proven to work well on Azure.
