Solve complex problems faster and more efficiently with symbolic manipulation and high-precision calculations.

SymPy is an open-source Python library used for symbolic computation. It allows you to perform mathematical operations with symbolic variables instead of numerical values. Think of it as a super-powered calculator that can handle abstract concepts like unknowns and derivatives, not just numbers. SymPy works with variables and expressions symbolically, without actual numbers. Ideal for solving equations, differentiation, integration, and other mathematical manipulations.

Use SymPy when you need to work with variables and expressions symbolically, regardless of numerical precision.

Mpmath is another powerful Python library, but instead of symbolic computation, it focuses on arbitrary-precision arithmetic. Mpmath handles real and complex numbers with arbitrary precision, meaning you can control the number of decimal digits used in calculations. Ideal for applications requiring high accuracy, like numerical integration, solving complex equations, and advanced mathematical functions.

Use mpmath when you need precise numerical calculations with very high accuracy.
