Ubuntu for Azure Batch container pools (RDMA VMs)

Microsoft

Use this Ubuntu image to create Azure Batch pools to run container applications on RDMA-capable VMs.

Azure Batch enables developers to produce client or SaaS applications that require batch processing capabilities. Batch provides large-scale VM allocation and management, plus job scheduling capabilities to run applications on the allocated VMs. A Batch pool is the collection of VMs on which applications are run, with applications being made available on the VMs in many ways, including applications packaged as container images.

Use this VM image to run container applications on Batch pool VMs without having to create your own custom VM image with the required container runtime and drivers installed. This VM image is based on Ubuntu, has the container runtime installed, the GPU driver is installed when the pool is configured to use GPU VMs, and the InfiniBand drivers are installed. This VM image must only be used with HPC Infiniband-enabled VMs.
