This offering is intended for customers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 VMs in Azure and want to continue to recieve security pathces and updates for those VMs beyond the RHEL 7 end of maintenance date (June 30, 2024). The cost of this offering is based on the number of virtual CPUs (vCPUs) used per hour.

Compared to previous major releases, Extended Life Cycle Support (ELS) for RHEL 7 expands the scope of security fixes by including updates that address important Common Vulnerabilities and Exceptions (CVEs). It also includes maintenance for RHEL for SAP Solutions (including S4/HANA) and RHEL High Availability and Resilient Storage add-ons.

Important

• RHEL VMs must be on v7.9 to use ELS for RHEL 7.
• ELS for RHEL 7 will be available through June 30, 2028.
• To enable accurate metering and billing, please ensure that every Azure account containing a RHEL 7 VM that will be using ELS is subscribed to this offering.
