Umbraco 9 - An open source CMS optimized by Ntegral for rapid, scalable, enterprise deployments.

Umbraco 9 on Azure is a .NET based content management system (CMS) that leverages the power of .NET 5. It is easy to use and simple to extend as well as to integrate smoothly with existing systems. We have combined Umbraco CMS with Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS and SQL Server Express.

Umbraco 9 on Azure is a an image based on Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS, SQL Server (Express Edition), Nginx, .NET 5 and Umbraco CMS. We created this VM workload to allow for teams to focus on their project and not how to deploy the project to production.

This Umbraco Accelerator provides for hassle-free, scalable, enterprise ready deployments. This VM workload has no usage limits. It can be scaled-up or scaled-out to meet your specific environments needs.

How to Use:

Umbraco is running a linux service. It is configured to restart and is ready to launch out-of the box. Once the VM instance starts, access Umbraco via the following: "http://publicDNS" or "http://azureIP".

Umbraco Configuration

  • ssh to the server
  • application folder: /var/www/umbraco
  • application build folder: /var/umbraco_build
  • sudo systemctl restart umbraco

Default ports:

  • SSH: 22
  • HTTP: 80

Note: SQL Server (Express Edition) is running on the default port: 1433. This port is not opened by default!!

Database Login Details :

Note: During setup umbraco can be configured to use any SQL Server based DB. However, this VM has SQL Server Express Edition already installed and configured fo use

  • SQL Username : sa
  • SQL Password : Azur3Umbr@c0
  • Umbraco DB: umbraco
  • Umbraco DB Username : umbraco
  • SQL Password : umbraco
