Deploy a SharePoint Server 2016 farm in Azure with the click of a button.
SharePoint Server 2016 is the first on-premises collaboration platform from Microsoft to be born in the cloud. It improves performance and reliability over previous SharePoint Server releases by leveraging new capabilities that have been deployed at scale in SharePoint in Microsoft 365:
- MinRole, the new SharePoint farm topology model that simplifies topology management and improves performance and scalability.
- Zero Downtime Patching, which allows SharePoint farm administrators to install the latest updates in their SharePoint farm with no downtime.
- Faster patching thanks to optimizations in the update package design.
- Modern OneDrive, a simplified user experience when working with documents stored in your personal work or school site.
This Azure Marketplace template deploys a fully functional, Internet-facing SharePoint Server 2016 farm that can be used for development and testing, demonstrations, or proof-of-concept purposes. The farm leverages Azure SQL Database managed instance to reduce the need to manage your storage layer. Select the software plan that matches your needs.
Note:
- This farm will be deployed with a trial license. You must convert the farm to a licensed installation to use it beyond its trial period.
- When you pick the size of Active Directory virtual machine, you'd better leave it as default which is "DS2 v2". Choosing other size of virtual machine may potentially cause Active Directory provision failure with error code 0x80090350. If you do need to change to another size and finally get this error code, please be patient and have more retries.
- Before you start deploying SharePoint farm with this template, please carefully check the resource requirement of the plan you pick. To have a successful deployment, you must have enough quota in your account and there are enough resources in the zone in which you choose to deploy.
