Running on the Microsoft Azure Cloud in Argentina, Australia, Canada, Europe, Japan, New Zealand, and South Korea, Critical Connect enables interoperability between different public safety LMR networks and between LMR networks and broadband PTT services. With one link to Critical Connect, agencies can connect with other agencies, as well as personnel outside of LMR coverage – providing dynamic, seamless PTT communication across town, across the state, or across the nation. Eliminating the barriers and unifying communications between networks, agencies and applications, Critical Connect enables the real-time exchange of voice, data, video, and location necessary for more informed and effective responses.
Through the Critical Connect portal and Motorola Solutions’ Link Manager, users have secure, web-based access to the tools needed to manage and dynamically link one or more broadband and LMR talkgroups (up to eight talkgroups per connection or tile). The Critical Connect Portal also allows users to share a talkgroup outside of their agency to other agencies, using an “Invite-Approve-Reject” model.
The value of Critical Connect grows as more agencies connect, encouraging inter-agency cooperation through data sharing and system interoperability. For member agencies, the enhanced collaboration and increased efficiency available through Critical Connect reduces the distraction of managing a complex communications center and enables users to focus their attention and resources on critical operations.
