Azure Sphere is a secured, high-level application platform with built-in communication and security features for internet-connected devices. It comprises a secured, connected, crossover microcontroller unit (MCU), a custom high-level Linux-based operating system (OS), and a cloud-based security service that provides continuous, renewable security. With Azure Sphere Catalogs, it is possible to isolate your Azure Sphere devices from devices that belong to other organizations, and provides a way for you to organize your devices. Your Azure Sphere catalog is an aggregation point for metadata, functional organization, and information about images, deployments, users, and roles.

The Azure Sphere security service supports certificate issuance and secured OS and software updates for Azure Sphere enabled devices. Create a new Azure Sphere catalog to manage your Azure Sphere devices:

  • Claim devices to the catalog
  • Configure products and device groups to organize and manage your Azure Sphere devices within the catalog
  • Deploy your software to your Azure Sphere devices
  • Configure Azure RBAC to manage user access and privileges to the catalog and its child resources
  • Configure Azure monitor settings to view fleet metrics, inspect notable events, and receive alerts
