Jitsi is an open-source video conferencing platform that enables secure and scalable video calls, conferencing, and collaboration. It offers real-time communication features and supports various use cases, from one-on-one calls to large virtual meetings.

Features of Jitsi:

  • Secure and private video conferencing with end-to-end encryption.
  • Support for multiple participants with no limits on the number of attendees.
  • Web-based and mobile-friendly interface for easy access from any device.
  • Integration with popular messaging platforms like Slack, Microsoft Teams, and others.

Note: To run the Jitsi application, connect to the virtual machine via SSH and execute the following commands:

# sudo su
# apt update
# echo deb http://packages.prosody.im/debian $(lsb_release -sc) main | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list
# apt update
# sudo apt install jitsi-meet

During installation, you will be prompted to enter the hostname of the Jitsi Meet instance. If you have a domain, use the specific domain name (e.g., meet.example.org). Alternatively, you can enter the IP address of the machine if it is static or doesn't change.

SSL/TLS certificate generation will also be addressed during the installation process.
