Cacti is an open-source network monitoring and graphical monitoring tool developed as an external application to the open-source RRDtool standard data maintenance tool. Cacti allows the user to poll services at specified intervals and draw the resulting data. Cacti collects time-series data for metrics such as CPU utilization and network bandwidth utilization. General Use - Monitor network traffic by polling a network switch or router interface via Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).
