Minimal ready-to-use Rocky Linux 8 Gold Image

Rocky Linux is an open-source enterprise operating system designed to be 100% bug-for-bug compatible with CentOS and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

This is a minimal ready-to-use Rocky Linux 8 image that is automatically updated at launch with latest patches making sure you are always running the most secure version available.

Mainly used as a common base system on top of which other appliances could be built and tested, it contains just enough packages to run within Azure, bring up an SSH Server and allow users to login.

100% bug-for-bug compatible with RHEL and pre-Stream CentOS.
Azure Linux Agent and cloud-init are included.
Accelerated Networking is supported.
Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux) is enabled.
Automatically updated at launch with latest patches.

Root login is disabled and only the user account specified at launch time is allowed to connect, preferably using ssh public key authentication.

Built using Rocky Linux 8 'Minimal Install' group of packages and a single 30 GiB OS disk. Both root partition and the corresponding filesystem are automatically extended during boot if the selected disk size is bigger than the default one.
